Costco will be introducing a $40 price increase for men shirts on Thursday, according to a release.
The price will apply to all men’s and women’s shirts priced between $200 and $2,999, with the maximum price increase being $40.
Costco said it will offer the same price on its online store starting March 20.
The company will also be adding a Men’s Shirt Deal to its men’s section starting March 21.
The new price is part of a larger price increase across the apparel and footwear retail chain, which is set to announce an additional $100 price increase on Friday.
The increase is expected to have an impact on consumers who are planning to spend more on a new pair of shoes, as well as on retailers who sell men’s clothing or apparel.
The chain has been one of the most vocal critics of the federal wage hike, which went into effect in March and is aimed at pushing up wages for the lowest paid Americans.
The company has long struggled to attract customers, and its efforts have sometimes been at odds with its larger competitors.
In recent years, the chain has cut down on its sales, cutting back on new products and advertising.
In 2015, the retailer announced it would be adding an online store for its men, with plans to launch another online store this year.
