Posted November 11, 2018 11:24:00 What happens if a child has a sudden and intense seizure, but no other signs of brain damage?
That’s exactly what happened to a Florida mom who was rushed to the hospital and later died.
According to police, a mother and her two young daughters were in a car on the way to a friend’s house when she suddenly lost consciousness.
Police say the two girls then heard a loud “pop,” and the mother began to shake violently.
Police later found the mother in the backseat with a ruptured bowel.
Her two young children were not injured, but the mother’s husband later told police that she had suffered a seizure during the trip to the friend’s home.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement confirmed that the mother was taken to the emergency room, where she died.
It is unknown if the other two children in the car were in the passenger seat.
Police say that the woman had been experiencing seizures for more than a year and had undergone several rounds of medications.
She had recently lost a child, so it is unclear if the two were in any danger at the time of the seizure.
The woman’s husband told police the seizure occurred around 2:30 a.m. on Nov. 8.
Police have not said whether the seizure was related to the woman’s previous seizure.
